Red Carpet Report: Life OK Screen Awards 2014

Looks like the Bollywood fraternity have finally started their award ceremonies with the 20th Screen Awards. The show was a star studded event, with great performances and some great appearances at the red carpet. I did wish to see more celebs, however many of them weren't present...perhaps because they didn't weren't nominated. Anyways. Do note, this is not the list of best dressed. Instead I am going to critique every appearance.

Let's begin with my favourite, Deepika Padukone! Overall, as gorgeous as she is, she was looking great. However, there are a few flaws to the look and styling of the dress. Deepika has adorned her self in a long black Alexander Mcqueen gown. The neck has beautiful gold embroidered details with a peek-hole neck. Now, the things that don't flatter the gown are the hair and makeup. The earrings are alright although they blend in too much with the shoulder details. Black and gold studs would have been a better choice. Her hair is in half-up half-down. The extreme puff at the top is distracting. The dark lips don't compliment her dark gown either. I would have preferred to see a gold smokey eye with nude lips and perhaps a braided up-do bun. Anyways she still looked. I am sure she will make lots of better appearances soon.

Amrita Puri was looking very pretty. She was wearing a silver silk top by Alexander Wang. She paired the top very elegantly with a ruffled, Dior skirt. She tied the outfit together with a black and white pattern clutch and a pair of black heels. Her makeup was kept simple with a silver smokey eye. Her hair was let down in natural curls. She looked good. However, I just feel she could have opted for a bit more formal dress as it was a prestigious award show.

Neha Dhupia was stunning at the red carpet. I must say she was one of the best dressed celebrities. She is wearing a white cut-out gown with lace and pearl embroideries. Her dress is by Ranna Gill. Her hair was in side curls which was complimenting the dress very well. Although, I felt her makeup was a bit too overpowering, especially with the dark eye look. She kept the accessories simple, with a large cuff bracelet and a orange-golden sparkling clutch.

Sophie Chaudry was looking fabulous in a Manish Malhotra sari. Although, I felt there was nothing new or unique about the look. Her sari was a classic hot pink and black, with a gold border, which I have seen plenty of before. However, to be honest, she carried the sari well and the whole look was well styled. I love her hair. It was a really pretty curled, side low bun. For accessories she chose gold earrings and a black Bottega Veneta clutch, both matched the outfit well. Her makeup was fresh and simple.

Vaani Kapoor was rocking in that Nandita Mahtani silver sequinned gown. That gown is phenomenal, I love it! More importantly, I love the fact that this dress has been so simply styled. Vaani has a very pretty face and a great height! She pulls this gown effortlessly. As you can see, she has no accessories, except for a pair of small diamond studs. Her hair is pulled back in an undo and her makeup is also very light and minimal. But this all makes her gown the star of the evening. Hope to see more looks like this from Vaani in the future!

Sonakshi Sinha once again didn't fail to impress! She looked marvellous in a nude sheer, silver sequinned detailed gown by Amit GT. It looks like this gorgeous lady has finally gotten herself a stylist. I don't have a lot complaints from this look! Her gown is the definitely the praise worthy and she wears it beautifully. She has kept the jewellery at minimum. She has opted for small stud earrings. She carried a golden glitter clutch to contrast her gown. Her makeup was perfect. I loved the hot pink lips. The only very little flaw is her hair. I think the voluminous curls are a bit overwhelming. It would have been better if the her hair was in a half-up half-down style. Nonetheless, a pleasant look from Sonakshi.

Lastly, we spotted Bipasha Basu in another Manish Malhotra outfit. By the way, if you don't already know, Manish Malhotra is Bollywood's favourite designer! The anarkali is very pretty. I love the navy blue colour with the light beige gold and silver details. I also liked the way it is styled. I think I have to say, Bipasha's hair was the best, hands down! It's really elegant and unique. The chunky necklace is a bit too much, but I don't mind it as she doesn't have any other jewellery. She has paired the dress with silver glitter peep toes. Her makeup is great! The orange/coral lips contrast well with her outfit!

WHO DID YOU THINK RULED THE RED CARPET?
